SAM employees and their families attended a Family Fun Day at the Antrim Forum to celebrate the SAM 25th anniversary
SAM is a family-run business based on the Greystone Road in Antrim and manufactures high quality MDF mouldings including skirting and architrave. The company supplys products across the UK, Ireland and also Europe. This year, SAM employees and their families gathered to celebrate the SAM 25th anniversary.
Chief Executive Officer, Sam McCrea, commented, “SAM started from an idea in my head a long time ago and has turned into a great organisation employing more than 160 people. It has gone way beyond our wildest dreams, but it has been a fantastic journey and we are still only part the way through.”
SAM Managing Director, Richard Holmes, added, “We have always worked to the ethos of looking after our people. We are immensely proud of our staff. They are what have built this company over the years.”
The family fun day for staff and their families was a reward from the company to mark the SAM 25th anniversary. The day included characters Olaf and a Minion as well as face painting, balloon making, bouncy castles, football tournaments, cake stalls, birds of prey and many other fun activities.
SAM Charity Partner
SAM also has a charity partnership with the Cancer Fund for Children. Through the fun day, SAM raised additioal money towards the company’s £10,000 target for the charity.
The Mayor of Antrim and Newtownabbey, Councillor Thomas Hogg, stopped by to join in the celebrations. He commented, “I think that the recognition of the staff is really tremendous. To put on an event of this scale and to bring along staff, their families and children and to say thank you to them for all of their commitment is fantastic. It really celebrates that family ethos that there is at SAM.”
Sorcha Chipperfield, Corporate Fundraiser at the Cancer Fund for Children, added, “It’s amazing! They have so much going on today. Everybody is really enjoying themselves. It is really important to see a local company getting their staff involved in some fundraising. We really do rely on local businesses to help us run our services and we are really grateful for their support.”
