The Right Products for a Unique Project
Having purchased an unfinished new build property, the customer wanted to add their own touch to the property. Their unique taste and keen interest in history and travel led the vision for the home’s interiors, aiming to create a space that had character and layers of interest.
The priorities for this project were to find a budget-friendly alternative to real wood, with a wide range of designs and sizes that would be easy to install. By selecting products from SAM’s stocked range, the customer transformed their modern new build into a unique space that blends contemporary design with traditional charm, perfectly reflecting their personal style.
Challenges Faced
Mouldings were essential to add dimension and impact to the hallway and downstairs space, but sourcing designs that reflected their style, whilst maintaining quality and affordability proved more difficult than expected. They had a vision of what they wanted to achieve within their ideal timeframe but were struggling to source the right material to fit the brief. Most suppliers only offered bespoke designs with long lead times which would delay the entire project.

With no defects or knots, MDF is supplied in long lengths with consistent quality, unlike real wood alternatives. SAM502 Hockey Stick was added to the architrave to create a more impactful and layered look, framing the doorways in a truly unique style. The sizeable width of the Victorian skirting alongside the layered architrave was the perfect combination to add that sense of heritage and history to the space.
