SAM are thrilled to announce that our recent fundraising efforts have raised a total of £3,000.
SAM began this fundraising journey at the start of the year, when the team selected the Alzheimer’s Society UK as the company’s chosen charity partner for the year. The year kicked off with a kilometres challenge competing with one of our customers, Jewson. The teams went head to head to rack up their KMs, raising a grand total of £2,500. The Alzheimer’s Society put all their efforts into funding research, offering helpline services within the community for those affected, and raising awareness to promote a better understanding of dementia. According to the Alzheimer’s Society website, 1 in 3 people born in the UK today will be diagnosed with dementia in their lifetime. Dementia has also been recognised as the biggest health and social care crisis in the UK today. Money raised for the Alzheimer’s Society will allow those affected to access vital support through helplines, online or within their local communities. Funds will also encourage the government to address issues within care homes, where dementia patients make up a high majority of residents.
SAM Raises Money for the Alzheimer’s Society UK
SAM are proud to have spent this year rallying together to support the Azheimer’s Society. This cause is close to many hearts, and we’ve organised several activities to raise funds and awareness for the vital work the charity does in dementia research and support. Recent initiatives that have raised this impressive amount include the annual SAM Sports Day, a Bake Sale and Coffee Morning, a Halloween Raffle and attending the Alzheimer’s Society Memory Walk in Ormeau Park, Belfast. Each of these activities helped bring our team closer together and allowed us to give back to a cause that touches so many lives. These campaigns not only helped us raise funds but also allowed us to spread awareness about dementia’s impact on individuals and families. By supporting Alzheimer’s Society UK, we’re helping fund critical research and resources that provide hope and support for those affected by this condition.
Recognition for the SAM Team
Shauna McErlain, HR Manager at SAM, says: “Thank you to the SAM team for their involvement in the fundraising campaigns and showing their support for Alzheimer’s Society UK. By coming together as a team and committing to this meaningful cause, we can make a real difference, helping to bring hope and vital resources to those affected by dementia.”
Each event reflects our team’s compassion and commitment to making a difference. This ongoing dedication doesn’t just raise funds; it fosters awareness and community spirit. Together, SAM is proud to contribute toward a future where dementia support and research continue to grow, offering hope to countless individuals and families. We’re grateful to everyone who contributed and look forward to continuing our efforts to make a positive impact!
