SAM supports young boxing talent and local athlete, Nicole Clyde, who is hoping to represent Northern Ireland in women’s boxing at the commonwealth games this summer.
Antrim boxer Nicole (19) made her breakthrough in 2018 winning the County Antrim and Ulster championships. In addition to this Nicole also won the Esker International Box Cup. She then went on to win the All-Ireland National Youth and Under 18 titles in 2019 at just 16 years old.
Nicole has since been selected to compete for Ulster and Ireland on several occasions. She has also won the U22 National Elite 48kg Championship. Nicole has also been selected for the U22 European Championships in Croatia in March 2022.
SAM Supports Young Boxing Talent Through Sponsorship
Sponsorship is vital for young athletes to continue their journey in becoming the best in their field. The funds will help cover essential costs such as travel, training, and equipment.
SAM director, Cat McCrea, said: “We are delighted to be able to help support Nicole, a young local athlete. Nicole has been working hard over the last few years and this dedication is paying dividends as her successes keep mounting.”
