We are proud to have received Level 2 Accreditation of the Take 5 Steps to Wellbeing in the Workplace.
The Take 5 Steps to Wellbeing initiative aims to improve the wellbeing of employees in the workplace through various inhouse activities and events. It also encourages education on wellbeing issues in the workplace, equipping employees with the skills and knowledge to look after their own wellbeing as well as their colleagues’. The initiative is based on five key actions: Connect, Be Active, Take Notice, Keep Learning and Give.
Wellbeing in the Workplace
At SAM, we aim to incorporate these key principles into our culture to improve the wellbeing of our employees, making them feel supported and empowered inside and outside of the workplace. We have integrated the 5 key principles of the Take 5 Accreditation into our wellbeing initiatives this year, which have included Cancer Focus NI Men’s Health Talks, Mental Health First Aid training, Nutrition Week and our Health and Wellbeing Committee.
Being recognised with the Level 2 award is an example of the positive progress our actions have made so far. Our goal is to continue to foster a supportive and inclusive environment that values and prioritises employee wellbeing.
HR Advisor, Erin McGuigan, said: “What a brilliant achievement and a testament to SAM’s progress in creating a better and healthier work environment for our team. We are so proud that our efforts have been recognised with this award and will continue implementing this important initiative for further success.”
Going Forward
We want to say a huge thank you to everyone who has participated in the initiative and helped keep the conversation of wellbeing at the forefront of everything we do. We are excited to continue this journey and strive to nurture an even more positive, supportive and healthy workplace environment.
